How to setup Simpletask apk for android
- For Android 4.0 or higher:Please to Settings, look down to Security, and select Unknown sources. Choosing this choice will enable to install apps download from the internet.
- For devices running on lower Android 4.0:
Please go to Settings - open the Applications option, and select Unknown sources, click OK on the popup alert.
Simpletask Details
A simple task list manager that strives to have just enough features to do GTD, but no more. Based on the todo.txt app so a todo.txt file (http://todotxt.com) is used for syncing the task list to the cloud.Can also be used for MYN/1MTD. See the screenshots for an example of how to use it for MYN.

No reason to not give it a 5 * --------------------- The latest version 6.0.3 has a bug where every time I archive tasks it creates a dropbox conflicted file with done.txt. I am not sure why. I am using it from a phone and tablet and this is an irritating problem for now. If the application is open, it will refresh correctly but the widget doesn't get updated automatically. I can edit my todo.txt elsewhere, and changes show up here. I must try and stick to GTD so I don't need reminders. Is there anyway to have reminders created for tasks created elsewhere? UPDATE: as stated below, this feature already works. For example, I can add a due date to a task created directly in a text editor, then when it syncs, Simpletask creates a calendar reminder. This app does exactly what I want, with just one problem. You must have internet to add or edit. You can view tasks offline, but there is no useful offline mode. I am switching to the offline-only "cloudless" version, and using Dropsync to keep the local file synced with dropbox. It is otherwise very good, so I am surprised at needing to resort to this clumsy workaround. Tried commercial, free and open source apps but Simpletask is simply better. Flexible configuration, extensible via Lua scripting. Doesn't have notifications, but hey, if you follow the GTD paradigm you don't need notifications: you come back to your tool of choice often enough. It is always a painful memory that my beloved Astrid got knocked out by Yahoo! simply because they hate it. I used wunderlist to replace Astrid but the fear of sudden shutdown of my task memories keeping me away from it. Then I devoted most of my life into evernote and google keep. I discovered todo.txt and immersed into the plaintext productivity world. Simpletask is a great app that keeps all my task into a trusted place with ease of manipulation.<br /><br /><span style="color:red">Gareth Buxton:</span> In my view better than remember the milk, wunderlist, todoist, toodledo etc. I've tried the pro versions of all of these. The software has a sensible clean interface but is very customisable. It's ideal for implementing GTD. I don't know how the syncing is implemented, but sometimes you have to wait a lot for the changes to appear if they were made elsewhere. Even the weather forcast synchronizes well before I can finally access my up-to-date notes and edit them. There either should be some option to explicitly request immediate syncing, or it should sync every time I open my notes, like Colornote does. With Simpletask, it is just too easy to create conflicting copies of your todo.txt file if you edit it elsewhere too, eg. on your computer. Correction added later: the delayed syncing turns out to be an issue with the Dropbox library, it is not caused by SimpleTask. I have to give 5 stars to this app. Also because Mark, the developer was absolutely willing to help and solve to problem. Besides, for whatever reason, this problem with the delayed synchronization became less frequent recently. It's pity that most other todotxt applications don't support them (you will still be able to interoperate, though, since it's just a txt file, which is awesome). The only missing piece for this app to be perfect is a proper notification system when the task gets closer to its due date (or reaches the threshold). This is a must for recurrent tasks that might only need to be done once per month but you might not remember to do. The current implementation has reminders using the calendar app, but these have to be created manually and don't use the due date nor the threshold as the default date (at least not in my MIUI calendar app). It's not a big deal because most calendars allow for recurrent notifications, but it's annoying that you have to set up the dates and frequency twice, one for the todo list and another for the calendar.<br /><br /><span style="color:red">Jamie:</span> Almost there. A great way to manage your todo.txt on the phone, lots of good options too.
